June
1st Networking Event: SF
EVENT
REPORT
On
June 1st, 2003, IACC hosted a successful networking event
at Lavash Bistro in San Francisco with over 70 people in
attendance. This event was designed to celebrate the chamber's
expanding
presence in the Bay Area and to reach out for new members
in the Iranian-American business community. The
event was a huge success. One simple rule was set and followed
throughout this
gathering: Every member and guest was asked to make their best
effort to meet others - so as expected, the energy was high
and it
created an upbeat, fun, and fruitful gathering.
Members
and guests networked, socialized, and enjoyed the great food
catered
by Lavash Bistro.
The
evening was marked by a short speech by Kayvan Tabari, an
original founder of IACC and a past member
of the Board of Directors. Following
Mr. Tabari, Javad Mirsaidi, The Chamber's President introduced
IACC's new Board of Directors.
The evening ended with a few
short speeches by several honorary guests including Vida
Ghahremani (actor) who announced the opening of her latest
play, Love Missiles.
We
would like to thank the many distinguished Bay Area organizations
who supported the event including
Persian Center, Baivoter, The Society of Iranian Professionals,
and IBMS (International BioMed Society).
The
evening received high approvals from members and guests alike
resulting in requests for more frequent gatherings, all around
the Bay
Area.
The
next event is planned for September and we hope to invite
Iranians from all over the Bay Area to visit the wonderful
region of Marin on our next stop around the Bay!
Each
meeting will be focused on regional area of important Iranain
business activity or a concentration of Iranians. If you
would like to arrange for an IACC event to be held in your
community, please contact
us immediately.
